Just in case former Burn the Floor star and celebrity hip-swinger Maksim Chmerkovskiy had forgotten what he lost when his engagement to Burn the Floor dance partner Karina Smirnoff ended earlier this month, PETA has stepped in to remind him. The animal advocacy group has chosen Smirnoff as its latest spokeswoman, placing her—all of her—in a steamy new ad campaign which proudly proclaims "I'd Rather Dance Naked Than Wear Fur."
Long-legged stunner Smirnoff recently admitted to PETA that she grew up wearing fur in the Ukraine. She has strutted the red carpet in it as well, but has since changed her pelt-wearing ways. She joins a growing list of celebs, including Broadway alum Christina Applegate and the Broadway-bound Alicia Silverstone, who've gone naked for the organization.
Based on the photos, we're guessing Chmerkovskiy is wishing his former lady love had hooked up with PETA while they were still together. On second thought, they're probably getting more than enough scantily-clad time together now that the new season of Dancing With the Stars (where the duo originally hooked up) is off and running. Awkward!
